TFT was appointed by The Merchant Taylors’ Company to provide technical due diligence and project monitoring for the development of Christopher Boone’s Almshouses which provides 62 new Almshouses on the site of the original Victorian buildings in Lewisham.

The new scheme allows full wheelchair access, provides extra space and communal facilities for elderly people wishing to live independent lives. The scheme includes one and two bedroom flats with recommendations from the Housing our Aging Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI), which suggests that Almshouses could be the model for future housing developments, incorporated into the design. An adjacent development of 26 maisonettes and apartments for private sale has funded the new Almeshouses.
