Chris’ areas of expertise are technical due diligence (TDD), vendor and pre-acquisition surveys of commercial property, and development and fund monitoring. He spent 11 years in London prior to moving to the Birmingham office in 2015. He was previously an author for the RICS Building Surveying Journal and is currently an active iSurv contributor specialising in TDD vendor/disposal surveys. He has presented various lectures on common defects with commercial buildings and written articles on topics such as vendor TDD, readiness for sale, concrete floor types and their pitfalls, and the use of lime mortar in historic commercial buildings.
Chris led the technical team on the sale of 122 Leadenhall Street (the ‘Cheesegrater’ building) and 5 Broadgate, both notable large buildings in the City of London. Chris maintains working relationships with L&G, Aviva, British Land, Oxford Properties and Royal London Asset Management.
Daniel is a Senior Director and part of the Built Asset Hub team in the London office. His areas of expertise include high-value and complex dilapidations claims, contract administration/project management of complex refurbishment and new-build projects, and technical due diligence (development/fund monitoring and building surveys).
He works across retail, office and industrial sectors, and has advised on a range of project types and value. Daniel is a member of the RICS Dilapidations Forum and organised the RICS Building Surveying Conference for many years previously. Daniel’s key clients include Legal and General, abrdn, Aviva, and M&G.

Daniel Cooper[/caption]Tuffin Ferraby Taylor has announced a record number of spring promotions to Partner in London, Birmingham and Guildford.Daniel Cooper (pictured) at TFT London is promoted to Equity Partner. He joined TFT as a Graduate Surveyor in 2001 and has climbed through the ranks to equity partnership. He will continue to develop and manage the Building Consultancy team in London.Chris Gibbons at TFT Birmingham is promoted to Equity Partner. He joined TFT in 2011 and has worked a number of high-profile acquisitions, most recently, supporting British Land and Oxford Properties on their sale of The Leadenhall Building.Helen Newman at TFT Guildford is promoted to Technical Partner. She has contributed significantly to the growth of the sector-leading Energy and Sustainability Team working particularly closely with Grosvenor, The Crown Estate and British Land.Liam Drawwater at TFT London is promoted to Technical partner. He developed and now leads TFT’s Cost Consultancy Team, already instructed on a number of major schemes both in London and further afield.Promotions to Partner and Technical Partner are with effect from 1 April 2017.
