We're starting the summer by putting a spotlight on sustainable buildings and development at not one but two major industry gatherings this month: the British Council for Offices (BCO) Conference in Dublin and Footprint+, in Brighton.

BCO Conference, Dublin

The annual BCO Conference is held in Dublin this year, recognising the growth and potential still in Ireland's capital when it comes to the office sector. It is also an ideal destination for us to celebrate the first anniversary of our Dublin office, from which Kevin Brannigan, our office lead in Dublin, and Gavin Gallagher, Associate Director, will be joined by our wider team including Alistair Allison, Dan Henn and Mat Lown who is part of the BCO Ride to Dublin!

Mat is taking on the BCO Cycle Challenge to raise funds for Samaritans, supporting their efforts to answer those who call them every 10 seconds for help. If you would like to donate in support, you can do so by clicking here.

Last week we celebrated winning two BCO regional awards for major office refurbishment projects. Bristol's newly-refurbished Dock House won the 'Project up to 1500m2' category, while the HERE building in Reading's Thames Valley Park won the awards' first ESG category as the UK’s first BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ + Fitwel 3* refurbishment!

FOOTPRINT+, Brighton

FOOTPRINT+ is an annual 3-day event where every sector of the UK property industry unites to discuss the issues, tools and solutions for reducing carbon emissions across the built environment. The event has a strong focus on building the all-important relationships which will help our industry put best-practice into action, covering four 'streams' of topics: Retrofit & Circular Economy, Efficient Buildings, Zero Carbon Energy and Financing the Carbon Revolution.

We'll also be talking about our B Corp journey, with Lisa Gunn joining a panel of real estate B Corps to discuss how our certification relates to wider ESG goals held across our industry. Look out for that session on the Financing the Carbon Revolution Stage, at 10am on June 7th.

Heading down to Brighton this month will be Martin Smith, Director Project Management, Carolina Caneva, Associate Director, Sustainability, Trevor Dingle, Associate Director of Engineering and Sustainability, and Lisa Gunn, Head of Business Development and Marketing.

Will you be heading to Dublin or Brighton for either of these conferences? We're always happy to say hello, so please get in touch!
