TFT acted as Cost Consultant, Project Manager and Architect on behalf of Drayton Manor High School. The project involved the creation of a new 3 storey teaching block to replace the existing ‘E’ Block.
The modern and attractive design provided new classrooms, sunken garden, ancillary spaces and a new feature library. The cost consultancy service included the full package from initial fund applications through to completion, including: cost planning; compilation of tender documents and analysis of tender returns; post tender negotiations; management of change control and reporting to the client; carrying out all valuations and issuing recommendation for payment; and agreement of final account.
The project now incorporates a legacy library on the second floor of the building. These works were also undertaken whilst the school occupied the surrounding buildings. All noisy and disruptive works have been arranged for holiday periods so that the impact on the school is kept to a minimum. We have been reporting on the whole project costs including client directs (decant works, IT works, FF&E budget and professional fees) and also external costs.
