We were appointed the sustainability coordinator for the design and build of this new office development at 4 Kingdom Street, as part of the Paddington Central Estate. Working alongside the design team, our role was to develop a sustainability brief in accordance with British Land’s corporate requirements, targets and objectives.
We produced relevant sustainability and BREEAM compliance standards for the employer’s requirements as part of the tender and appointment of the main contractors; these have a strong emphasis on community benefits through local employment, training and procurement, as well as environmental performance objectives. We were also the lead BREEAM assessor, BREEAM-accredited professional and ecological assessor for the project.
Our appointment included sustainability input into the wider masterplan development of the Paddington Central Estate to ensure a collaborative view of opportunities and constraints with regards the environmental and social and community initiatives.
