TFT was appointed by Barings Real Estate to undertake the contract administration and principal designer roles of a full refurbishment of Voyager Park: five light industrial units, totalling approximately 30,000 sqft.

The former tenant had entered liquidation and so, along with the strip out of their fit-out (including mezzanine floors), the works also comprised the removal of over 700 pallets of low-value goods, ranging from intruder alarm systems to cuddly toys.

The external works of the 15-year old units included: typical remedials works to properties of this nature, including cut edge corrosion treatment to the ends of roof sheets; the replacement of damaged cladding sheets; and repairs to the loading bay and pedestrian doors. Internally, the works comprised: the construction of new mezzanine floors to create additional ancillary space; the replacement of all lighting with new LED fittings; general repairs; and full redecoration throughout.

This project was a proud success with works completed on programme and under budget and within a month of completion, four of the five units were let.
